Privacy Policy

Effective date: [December 28, 2025]

FreeRide (“the App”) is developed and provided by Vladyslav Yarmak (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.

1) Summary

FreeRide is designed to work primarily on-device. The App uses certain device permissions (camera, microphone, location, Photos) only to provide core features such as live camera preview, recording, speed/altitude display, and saving recordings to your photo library. We do not sell your data.

Camera

Purpose: Show a live camera preview behind the speed/altitude HUD and include that view in your recordings.
Data involved: Live camera frames.
How it’s used: Processed on-device in real time. We do not upload camera footage to our servers.

Microphone

Purpose: Include audio in your recordings (when enabled) and/or support voice-related features (if used in your build).
Data involved: Microphone audio while recording.
How it’s used: On-device for recording. We do not store audio separately or upload it to our servers.

Location

Purpose: Calculate and display your speed and altitude.
Data involved: Your device’s location, speed, and altitude readings derived from location services.
How it’s used: On-device to display current metrics and (optionally) compute session stats such as max speed. We do not sell or share precise location data. Location access type: The App may request When In Use location access.

Photos (Photo Library)

Purpose: Save recorded videos to your photo library.
Data involved: The recorded video file created by the App.
How it’s used: We request Add Only access so the App can save videos to Photos. The App does not need to read your full photo library.

Recording and Saving Videos

When you record a session, the App uses Apple system frameworks to capture the screen/camera overlay and (optionally) microphone audio. When you stop recording, the App can automatically save the resulting video to your Photos library (if permission is granted).
We do not receive a copy of your recordings.

4) Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only in these limited cases:

  • With Apple / system services you use (e.g., Photos for saving, Game Center if you sign in, and standard iOS permission services). These services operate under Apple’s privacy terms.

  • If required by law (for example, responding to a lawful request).

5) Third-Party Services

Depending on the version of the App you use, FreeRide may interact with:

  • Apple Photos (to save recordings)

  • Apple Game Center (leaderboards/achievements, if enabled)

  • Apple ReplayKit / AVFoundation / CoreLocation (system frameworks)

We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs in the App (unless you add them later).

6) Data Retention

FreeRide does not maintain a user account system and does not run our own servers for storing your camera, microphone, location, or recording data.

  • Recordings you save remain in your Photos library until you delete them.

  • Any settings stored by the App (for example, unit preferences) remain on your device and can be removed by deleting the App.

Your Choices and Controls

You can control permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security:

  • Camera

  • Microphone

  • Location Services

  • Photos (Add Only)

If you deny a permission, some features may not work (for example, speed/altitude requires location).

8) Security

We use Apple’s platform security features and APIs to help protect your information. Because recordings and sensor data are handled on-device and saved to your Photos, your device security settings and Apple account protections play a major role in safeguarding your data.

9) Children’s Privacy

FreeRide is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10) International Users

If you use the App outside of your home country, your information remains primarily on your device. Any processing done by Apple services (e.g., Photos sync if you use iCloud Photos, Game Center) is governed by Apple’s policies.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top. Your continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
